About the job

We are looking for a Translation Project Manager to join our team in our office in Barcelona.

 

Role

As a Translation Project Manager, your role will be 70% project management work and 30% linguistic work. You will communicate with clients in German and English. You are expected to evaluate and mitigate project risks, prepare and organize project tasks to ensure feasibility and secure a high-quality output. You will also be in direct contact with members of the supply chain (in-house and vendors). You will monitor project performance and budget from start to delivery.

 

Qualifications

Fluent German and English (negotiation proficiency in both languages)
Spanish or French as native language
2 or more years of experience as a Project Manager for translation projects
1 or more years of professional experience as a linguist translating technical content
University degree, preferably on Translation or Linguistics

 

Skills and Experience

Strong client focus: advocate for quality and timeliness of deliverables
Ability to understand the needs and expectations of all project stakeholders, from clients to internal team to suppliers, and ensure that project is organized accordingly and executed smoothly
Excellent communication skills
Ability to multitask and to work under pressure
Strict observance of deadlines
Experienced with CAT tools, such as memoQ or SDL Trados Studio
Experienced with linguistic QA tools, such as ApSIC Xbench
Capacity to evaluate and monitor linguistic performance of translation suppliers
Capacity to work independently as well as in a team
