Translating is, with obvious cultural differences, like being a courier who carries a message, trying not to lose the original text along the way.
Translator of Catalan and English
Marta completed her degree in English, Russian, Spanish and Catalan Translation and Interpretation at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. She specialised in Computer Assisted Translation tools, earning a Master’s in Tradumatics at the same university. During her studies she spent one year at the University of Birmingham and also studied at the Pushkin Institute in Moscow. A former student of Cálamo&Cran, after completing an internship in the technical translation department of a translation agency, she decided to establish herself as a freelance translator. Currently, she combines this activity with that of leading workshops on the computer-assisted translation programme SDL Trados.
